Call for Submissions for "Lost Between Light & Shadow: A Collection of Dark Poetry"

Carlisle Legacy Books is looking for poetry up to 50 lines in length. We  will accept any genre, but we especially want fantasy, dark fantasy, or horror. Poems must fit the title--however you choose to interpret it. Any poetic form, including prose, narrative, or blank verse is acceptable.

We will not accept poems that contain:

     •     Pedophilia / Rape / Child Abuse

     •     Animal Abuse

     •     Vulgar Language (mild profanity is acceptable)

     •     Extreme Violence, Sex, or Gore

     •     Poetry created or assisted by Generative AI (due to the way it  gathers information)

     •     Simultaneous submissions (We don't want to reject another poem in favor of yours only to be told you sold it elsewhere.)

We anticipate a Spring 2024 release.

Accepted poets will receive $5 per poem plus a contributor's copy of the chapbook.

We claim exclusive first world English rights for the first year the chapbook is in print. After that, poets may resell the poem as long as we we retain non-exclusive rights to keep the poem or poems in the chapbook while it remains in print in book or eBook format.

Submission Format:

You may submit up to five (5) poems in DOC, DOCX, RTF or TXT format.

Please use the Shunn format for poetry.

All poems will be evaluated by a panel of three judges. Two of the three must vote yes on a poem for it to be accepted. However, we reserve the right to accept up to three poems per poet regardless of the votes.

Email poetry to: submissions@carlislelegacybooks.com by midnight ET on October 31, 2023. (Note: because of problems with our former web hosting, the deadline has been extended. We are reviewing the poems that have already been submitted.)

We hope to send out responses within a month, but it may be longer, depending on the number of submissions.
